About Drydev Niger

The DryDev Programme in Niger was formerly (between 2013 and 2017) implemented in five municipalities (Aguié, Dogon Kiria, Droum, Malbaza and Torodi), by a consortium of seven partners (CARE Niger as the national lead organization, Oxfam Novib, World Vision Niger, Karkara, AREN, NGO RAIL, and CRESA). However, the country recently undertook a major structural reorganization which saw the pulling out of Oxfam, CRESA and World Vision from the country consortium, and the dropping off of Torodi municipality. The current setup involves CARE continuing its national leadership role, as well as coordinating the implementation of the programme activities in Dogon Kiria, AREN implementing activities in Aguié municipality, Karkara in Droum municipality, and RAIL in Malbaza municipality. DryDev Niger aims to reach 52,000 farmers by the end of the programme, of which 26,000 will be women.
